Achievements

I am a clinician by education but a public health professional by experience. During my early days as clinician, I studied several complications related to Otolaryngology that would have surely their management. The holy Bhagawad Gita says “Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.” Surrounding pains, disparity, apathy and disproportionate burden of health problems among those who could not win over it transitioned me gradually from clinician to public health professional. I got the opportunity to serve one of the most deprived populations in the country which happened to be public health laboratory for many successful interventions. Subsequently, the time came to translate my learning from grass-root level into policy and program design. Here, I got privilege to lead a project where a new concept of quality of healthcare provided by public health facilities was introduced in Uttar Pradesh. The successful management of biomedical waste was ensured during this project. The out of pocket expenditure on high-end diagnosis was also reduced through efficient strategic purchasing of services and created a conducive environment for use of digitalized data for decision making in Uttar Pradesh. Luckily, all these education and experiences armored me in combating with current COVID-19 epidemic in Uttar Pradesh in my next journey. Finally, but most important, it always gives me immense satisfaction to be linked with organizations like CRY (Child Rights and You), UNICEF, WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). I not only funded them but supported them to improve socio-economic and environmental issues and improve condition of underprivileged people.
